After 75 years, the state of Washington is still living in the shadow of Prohibition. I-1100 updates our state’s liquor laws for the way we live today.

Our state government should not be in the business of selling liquor. It is not an essential state service and is best left to the private sector.  Over more than seven decades, state government artificially raised prices in its search for cash and turned its attention away from its most important mission of alcohol enforcement.

I-1100 directs our state liquor board to devote itself to enforcement, education and the fight against teenage drinking. Instead of sales, state government will be focused on safety.

I-1100 is a common sense initiative that will provide consumers with fair prices, more buying options, better convenience and peace of mind that the state liquor board is working for the people, not profits.
